THE HISTORY OF DEINOCOCCUS RADIODURANS
Discovered in 1956 in a can of spoiled meat that had been zapped with a huge dose of radiation.
MANY scientist and people were interested in finding out information on Deinococcus radiodurans
because it is very WEIRD and RARE.
Since being discovered, it has also been found in
LLAMA FECES, IRRADIATED HADDOCK AND DUCK, and in GRANITE FROM ANTARTICA'S DRY VALLEY.
It is believed that is was found in Antartica's Dry Valleys because it is a place on Earth thought to
most closely resemble the surface of Mars.
Scientist today believe this bacteria could help humans on Mars.
